Hadley Hartmetz -

Hadley Hartmetz is an American ice‑hockey defenseman from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, currently signed with the Boston Fleet of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college hockey first at Boston College Eagles and then transferred to Ohio State Buckeyes, where she established herself as a high-level, two‑way blueliner. During her time with the Buckeyes, she contributed significantly to the team’s defense and transition game and helped Ohio State capture two national championships (in 2022 and 2024).

Hartmetz was selected in the seventh round, 40th overall, in the 2024 PWHL Draft by Boston. She signed a one‑year contract to start her professional career, though a lower‑body injury delayed her debut. Once she recovered, the Fleet activated her from injured reserve in March 2025 and she made her pro debut. In June 2025 the Fleet re‑signed her through the 2025–26 season — a sign of their confidence in her defensive presence and upside as a young pro defender.

On the international front, Hartmetz has worn the USA jersey at the U18 level. With the U.S. U18 Women’s National Team, she won a gold medal in 2019 and a silver in 2018. Her youth‑level national team accomplishments highlight her long‑standing presence in U.S. women’s hockey, and she remains a promising young defender as she begins her professional career.
