Hannah Murphy is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender from Bradford, Ontario, who has quickly established herself as one of the top young goalies in women's hockey. She began playing hockey at the age of four and developed her skills through the Aurora Panthers, Napanee Crunch, Central York Panthers, and Toronto Arrows. Murphy later joined Colgate University, where she enjoyed a standout collegiate career. During her time at Colgate, she became the program's all-time leader in shutouts while also setting school records for goals-against average and save percentage. Her consistent performances helped establish her as one of the NCAA's elite goaltenders.

Murphy's success at the collegiate level earned her recognition on the international stage. She represented Canada on the National Women's Development Team from 2022 to 2024, competing in several international events against top competition. One of her biggest achievements came at the 2024 Women's Euro Hockey Tour, where she recorded a shutout in her only appearance and helped Canada earn a silver medal. Her strong play and international experience demonstrated her ability to perform under pressure and prepared her for the transition to professional hockey.

In 2025, Murphy was selected 15th overall by the Seattle Torrent in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) Draft, becoming the first goaltender chosen that year. She made an immediate impact by winning her professional debut, stopping 23 shots in a 2–1 victory that also marked the first win in Seattle Torrent franchise history.
