Megan Carter -
Megan Carter is a Canadian ice hockey defenseman from Milton, Ontario, whose solid two‑way play and strong puck-moving skills earned her a college and now professional career. She played five seasons at Northeastern Huskies, where she distinguished herself by earning Hockey East Best Defender honors in her final two seasons and serving as team captain during her graduate year. Known for her defensive composure, smart decision‑making in her own end, and the ability to skate the puck up ice, Carter was also a consistent offensive contributor from the blue line.
Carter was selected 12th overall in the 2024 draft by Toronto Sceptres of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and signed a two‑year contract. After recovering from a lower‑body injury that delayed her start, she made her league debut in January 2025 and quickly began contributing to the Sceptres’ defensive core. Her combination of reliability, hockey IQ, and physicality helps bring stability and puck‑movement strength to Toronto’s backend.
On the international front, Carter represented Canada at the U‑18 level and was part of the squad that won gold at the 2019 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship. Her background in elite youth hockey and commitment to continuous improvement make her a promising defenseman in the PWHL — one to watch as she develops further at the pro and potentially senior‑national level.
