Michela Cava -
Michela Cava, born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, is a Canadian centre currently signed with Vancouver Goldeneyes in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She started her NCAA career with the University of Connecticut Huskies before transferring to the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, where she finished her college years with strong scoring output and consistency. Following college, Cava embarked on a pro career that took her across multiple leagues in North America and Europe — demonstrating versatility and longevity.
In her professional journey, Cava became known as a “championship‑magnet.” She won league titles in Sweden’s SDHL, Russia’s ZhHL (with KRS Vanke Rays), and later in North America, helping the Toronto Six capture the Isobel Cup. With the advent of the PWHL, she was selected in the 12th round of the 2023 draft by Minnesota Frost. During the league’s inaugural season she played a key role in Minnesota winning the first‑ever PWHL championship (the Walter Cup), scoring a pivotal goal and assist in the deciding game. In 2025 she helped the Frost repeat as champions.
Beyond her club success, Cava has represented Canada at the youth level and made her mark early — winning national tournaments and earning MVP honors in her youth career. Her breadth of experience across leagues and countries, combined with sustained performance and a proven clutch gene, make her one of the most decorated and resilient players in women’s professional hockey today.
