Michela Cava -

Michela Cava, born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, is a Canadian centre currently playing for the Ottawa Charge in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). She began her NCAA career with the University of Connecticut before transferring to the University of Minnesota Duluth, where she established herself as a dependable and productive offensive player. Her collegiate years were marked by consistency and competitiveness, laying the foundation for a lengthy and versatile professional career.

Following college, Cava’s professional journey spanned multiple leagues and countries, earning her a reputation as a true “championship magnet.” She captured league titles in Sweden’s SDHL, Russia’s ZhHL with KRS Vanke Rays, and in North America with the Toronto Six, where she won the Isobel Cup. With the launch of the PWHL, Cava was selected by the Minnesota Frost in the 2023 draft and played a key role in the league’s inaugural season, contributing a pivotal goal and assist in the championship-clinching game to secure the first Walter Cup. She later helped Minnesota repeat as champions in 2025.

Now with the Ottawa Charge following her trade from Vancouver, Cava brings elite experience, playoff composure, and a proven ability to deliver in decisive moments. A former Canadian youth national team standout, her extensive résumé and clutch performances continue to make her one of the most accomplished and respected players in professional women’s hockey.
