Mikaël Kingsbury, born July 24, 1992, in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec, is widely regarded as the greatest mogul skier of all time. Often called the “Wayne Gretzky of mogul skiing,” Kingsbury joined Canada’s national freestyle ski team in 2009 and quickly redefined excellence in the sport. His unmatched consistency, technical precision, and creative innovation have made him the most decorated athlete in freestyle skiing history, both in the World Cup circuit and on the Olympic stage.
Over an illustrious career spanning nearly two decades, Kingsbury has amassed 100 World Cup victories, 29 FIS Crystal Globes, and 15 World Championship medals, including an unprecedented nine world titles—records unmatched by any other male freestyle skier. He has represented Canada at four Olympic Games, earning five medals: gold in moguls at PyeongChang 2018, gold in dual moguls at Milano Cortina 2026, and silver medals in moguls at Sochi 2014, Beijing 2022, and Milano Cortina 2026. His 2026 dual moguls victory marked a historic moment—not only as the first-ever Olympic gold awarded in that event but also as the crowning achievement of his competitive career.
